VIDEO - Climate Change - Lateline interview from USA

Senator Fielding speaks with Tony Jones from Washington DC on a self-funded trip meeting with experts on climate change.
PART 1
PART 2
Comments
Further note: ( just common sense the facts)
Average global temperature is mainly caused by the effect of sunlight reaching the earth.
Light colours ( white) reflect light = colder
Dark colours (black) absorb light =hotter
Further Comments:
Human activity:
1. Clearing forests, less dark = colder
2. City’s lighter than vegetation = colder
3. Cropping lighter than vegetation = colder
4. Pollution, smog clouds =colder
5. Plant activity absorbing light=colder
6. Burning fossil fules=hotter
1 out of 6.. is this part of the debate we have not had?
The climate is changing, always has always will.
1. Sun activity, solar flares and sun spots
2. Volcanic activity
3. Bush Fires
4. Ocean currents
It is a complex self regulating system, if we have a warmer wetter (yes wetter heat evaporates water from the oceans and we have more rain on the land) planet with more CO2 the plants (our food) will grow better and absorb more CO2 and the extra clouds will reflect more sunlight = cooler.
If you are worried about global warming, wait for global cooling.

The CO2 global warming story keeps claiming ” the majority of scientific community” this is as false as their claim, basic high school science exposes this. The Hypothesis “production of CO2 by the burning of fossil fuels is causing dangerous global warming” is far from proven.
This has become the new religion promoted by Gore and his cronies the wealthy elite. The environmentalists are sucked in because they are basically stupid and this “Cause” appears to be “Green”, they seem to believe that CO2 is a pollutant, which it is not. The planet absorbs CO2 at a high rate, CO2 has dropped from 18% in ancient times to the current levels of around than 0.5% mainly by the ocean in reefs, limestone and of course our carbon based life on this planet.
This YouTube video by a respected scientist gives a balanced view, with evidence http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOLkze-9GcI
and as he states, science is not by consensus, it is evidence based and we have not had the debate. The climate skeptics have been labels as negative. All good scientists must be skeptics ~ someone who habitually doubts accepted beliefs ~someone who demands physical evidence in order to be convinced (especially when this demand is out of place). http://www.climate-skeptic.com/ is where you go for a balanced view of the facts.
The point is that the media are pushing that skeptics are anti-science when in fact the opposite is true. Gore et al are politicians, selectively selecting false science to promote their agenda. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXYodhq7OI4 is from the LaRouche group that may give some incite to why and how the political world has been fooled. The global warming scare mongers are anti-science and the negative ones.
Steve, well done and good luck, follow scientific method and be a skeptic, demand proof and check the evidence supplied. Your interviewer need to be taken to task, his smug attitude that the ” the majority of scientific community” had decided was pathetic, you should have asked him, has the majority ever been wrong before?
You seem to be the only politician prepared to ask the hard questions, more proof that the 2 party system is not democratic.

All well and good Nevada Dad ...however the climate is not doing what the AGW models tried to predict.
We have a theory that can’t be proved and that isn’t behaving as it should. Yet we are about to tax our industry and ship CO2 production and jobs offshore. How smart is us ??

This principle can be found in Chapter One of any college science book.
It reads: “Every assertion regarding the natural world is subject to challenge and revision based on current evidence.”
Any scientific hypothysis or claim must be falsifiable, meaning open to negation through scientific inquiry. The assertion that we (mankind) cause global warming does not rise to the level of a scientific claim because there is no way to prove that it is not so.

To support my previous post we have to understand where the AGW theory is being driven from. The political traction is coming from the left and to get that traction they have had to silence the other side, this they have done completely.
So why do the left like AGW? Well it is going to be the mechanism to carry out global socialist ideology. It is the classic destroy the rich nations so the poor can prosper. Do you have doubts? Just look around and see who the AGW cheer leaders are. This does not include business people who are desperately trying to position themselves in an uncertain world.

It is interesting to see how any scientist who questions AGW is hailed down so viciously and completely. This has stiffled debate and has lead us to where we are now. Only the brave and stupid dare ask the most simple questions.
As for vested interests ...what happens to the IPCC if AGW if found to be just another man made catastrophe theory? Well they are all without jobs overnight, so why is their vested interest more noble than the oil industries?

I applaud Senator Fielding’s efforts to understand both sides of the argument, having said that he is not a scientist and should heed the overwhelming evidence put forth by the majority of scientific community.
I am not a scientist either however I do realise that there is more to loose from inaction than action. The Hartland Institute is pushing their narrow minded economic views is a minority in the scientific community, what is more their evidence is a speck in an ocean of evidence pointing towards human induced climate change.
If climate change is human induced we have an incredible historic opportunity to create a more just and sustainable future for our world. Climate Change is real and not only is it causing a cascade of environmental degradation but have a huge human cost and lead to an era of adaption apartheid.
Thank You, You and many many others a brave enough to stand against mass histeria about CO2 induced climate change. Unless we unite aginst it we will fall a victiim of it. Just look at the spanish experience. It clearly shows that carbon trading does nothing to Co2 levels or temperature change. There is a website http://www.iceagenow.com that has a lot of science and our own Prof Plimmer opinion on it.
Congratulations

I’m glad there are individuals with the courage to questions claims about global warming. I’m not sure how it happened, but somewhere, somehow, somebody decided that the earth is getting warmer and just because of this, thousands of good Australians are going to lose their jobs. I’m not sure where organisations like the IPCC get their money, but I suspect it’s a waste.
The fact that Senator Fielding is self-funding his fact finding mission shows his credibility. Not many senators would leave themselves out of pocket just to benefit the Australian people.
