White paper chapter 9 “Auctioning of Australian carbon pollution permits”

So once you run out of your paid for, or free handed out permits…......the one with the most money through an auction can get to pollute more than the rest ?  ” Money Money Money must be funny in a rich mans world” ABBA I believe Oh ! who creates and hands out the permits “Governments” = control of the money flow on everything we buy, sell and consume.

Everthing will have a CO2 value on it
eg Carbon labels set for food products http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25712239-7582,00.html

It looks to me like alot of money will be revolving around in the market and many people of position and in postion will become very weallthy, with little impact on reducing emmissions.

As some have written if green house gases (all types)  only equals 5% (and Co2 is only a small part of that 5%) of the atmosphere and Australia contributes only 1.4% of green house gases of that 5% and we currently have a target of reducing our 1.4% by 5% with a possibility of slowing down or preventing temps rising in small increments of 0.1 degrees only if all countries co-operate, we as a country I believe represent a drop of water an olympic size swimming pool.
(If I have not got my percentage’s correct happy to recieve additional information)

Until a full consensus on both sides is fully agreed to and understood, a so called “political” ETS solution should not be implemented.

Senator Fielding,

I fully support your position not to support the ETS Bill. Global warming is a big farce that has been pushed down our throats by Penny Wong and Labor. I am a geologist and have reseached both sides of the agruement and man made global warming comes up very short on facts and long of miss information. Australia’s CO2 contribution per captia may be significant but our gross annual CO2 production is tiny and amounts to a few weeks CO2 production by China or the USA. It is crazy to implement ETS in Australia and saddle Australian to major future expenditure based on models that are basically useless.

I drive a Pruis not to save CO2 emissions but to conserve oil. It is crazy how the world is using up oil and gas reserves as there is no tomorrow. Oil is the foundation of many things in our society and should be preserved for future generations. Our Labor government is stupid Toyota Pruis car have a 10% duty coming into Australia while a Toyoya landcruiser has no duty. If they were serious about emissions this would be reversed.

Please do not give into Labor.

Regards,

John

thats where my nose lead too at the end. LOL

they’re desperate to pass this ridiculous bill before the masses start realising the scam. it’s hard to believe that only a handful of people can manipulate individual governments to follow suit into this pyramid scheme where the only people benefiting from it is at the top!

everything on this planet is no longer free to share equally folks, including the damn air you breath!

Perhaps you can point out your peer-reviewed publications that support your “agruement” [sic]?

I thought it an interesting statement in regards to the current discussion / issues, makes one think.

CR: “How can you make something illegal when its a natural part of the world”

Canibalism is a natural part of the world. Most consider it illegal.

mont106: “run by true scientist without any distorted driven agenda’s. highly recommended reading”

By “true scientist” you likely mean:

(a) a scientist who can’t get published in legitimate journals and has to publish on sham websites, or

(b) someone who agree with your beliefs

“Consensus”? What “Consensus”? Among Climate Scientists, The Debate Is Not Over

Abstract

It is often said that there is a scientific “consensus” to the effect that climate change will be “catastrophic” and that, on this question, “the debate is over”. The present paper will demonstrate that the claim of unanimous scientific “consensus” was false, and known to be false, when it was first made; that the trend of opinion in the peer-reviewed journals and even in the UN’s reports on climate is moving rapidly away from alarmism; that, among climate scientists, the debate on the causes and extent of climate change is by no means over; and that the evidence in the peer-reviewed literature conclusively demonstrates that, to the extent that there is a “consensus”, that “consensus” does not endorse the notion of “catastrophic” climate change.

CR, I also did the maths on how much co2 aust puts into an olymic size pool and got the same answer. Ignore Dr Sam, he is only here to cause trouble and disent. He just wants to disrupt the discussion.

“A complete list of things caused by global warming”
http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/warmlist.htm

It is not so much a warm list as it is more of an “alarmist” list

Pick a card any card and possible “global warming” will be at fault, the what “IF” factor is massive.

Interesting topics with headlines like……….

“Climate change could be causing cougar attacks”

“Adoption Group: Cat Invasion Due to Global Warming”

“Global Warming comes to the Breakfast Table”
( Maple syrup under threat)

“The incredible expanding popcorn price”

“Global Warming Means More Snow For Great Lakes Region”
(What up with that one, are we not supposed to be warming)

“Turner: Global Warming Will Cause Mass Cannibalism, Insurgents Are Patriots”

“Climate change-may put world at war”

“Climate change takes the fight out of cannibalistic Humboldt squid”

“Pythons could squeeze lower third of USA”

“Monkey Sighting Stirs Climate Fears in Kenya”

“Global warming threatens ski resorts”
(It is my understanding its one of the best seasons ever in Aus)

“Global Warming Simultaneously Baking, Freezing Europe, Alarmist Activists Claim”
(What up with that one, freezing and baking…… Eh both ?)

(small example from the above link)

Under the mantra and name of “Climate Change” there will and is an excuse for everything and a reason to do anything with no consequences and no doubt, to the advantage of a select few.  Blame it all on “Climate Change”.  Complete madness!

This is not a statement weather climate change is occurring or not but an observation of the alarmist approach to all things relating to “Climate Change” it is and has become the scapegoat for all things bad, followed with a loud call for “we need money, we need funding now” mantra.

The more you read the more an each way bet “Climate Change” alarmist’s are becoming.

What if the truth about “climate change” is that it is just a natural cycle of the worlds atmosphere?...............equals no more money for anyone and life goes on !

And just recently

“Incredible shrinking sheep blamed on climate change”  02 July 2009
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn17407-incredible-shrinking-sheep-blamed-on-climate-change.html?DCMP=OTC-rss&nsref=online-news
Abstract

Sheep living on a remote island off the coast of Scotland have been shrinking for 20 years. Now it seems shorter winters caused by climate change are responsible.

so that’s a bad thing then ?

Abstract

“Because fewer sheep are dying, I think that means the environment is getting better for them,” says Coulson. “The winters are less harsh than they used to be.”

so that’s a good thing then?

Anything goes it seems !

Here are some quotes from the leaders of the ‘dangerous AGW’ alarmists.

The Breathing Earth simulation
Welcome to Breathing Earth. This real-time simulation displays the CO2 emissions of every country in the world, as well as their birth and death rates.

Please remember that this real time simulation is just that: a simulation. Although the CO2 emission, birth rate and death rate data used in Breathing Earth comes from reputable sources, data that measures things on such a massive scale can never be 100% accurate. Please note however that the CO2 emission levels shown here are much more likely to be too low than they are to be too high.

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/833900/australia-third-happiest-place-on-earth
Australia third happiest place on earth

Costa Rica is the happiest place on earth, and one of the most environmentally friendly, according to a new survey by a British non-governmental group, which puts Australia in third place.

Those figures, taken along with the fact that Costa Rica has a small “ecological footprint”, combined to push the small nation to the top of the list.

Australia is Third…................small “ecological footprint”  got to question the ETS logic
