The new Rudd Government has a chance to get tough with Australia’s banks and support Family First’s proposed laws that would stop banks ripping off Australians through outrageous bank penalty fees.

Some bank penalty fees are as high as 92 times the bank’s costs.

Australians are looking to the Rudd Government for help to stop banks from charging exorbitant penalty fees.

The previous Howard Government did nothing in 11 years. Will the Rudd Government be any different?

This will be a real test for the new Government of whether their bite matches their bark.
