Senator Fielding Frustrated by ETS

To the Federal Parliament, where the ETS countdown is on. Tomorrow MPs from both major parties will find out the details of the deal that Government and Opposition negotiators have thrashed out over the last month.T

Those in the Coalition who are pledging to vote for a carbon trading scheme say the legislation will get through the Senate. But those increasingly vocal MPs against the deal are expressing frustration over the short time to debate such a big policy shift - with Parliament due to rise on Thursday.

But the Government is trying to smooth the way for a positive vote by making room in the parliamentary schedule for more debating time.
